Years ago, my first client asked me why she should hire me to support her National Science Foundation funded grant project to advance women in STEM. My answer was, in part, because I am one – a woman in STEM. The issues, advances, challenges and successes of women in technical fields is personal with me because I have lived through them. It matters to me.
Over the years, I have worked with many who share that mission of working to advance women in STEM fields. A common question is ‘how are we doing’? There are plenty of statistics out there, but there’s a story behind them. My job is to help people measure what matters and share those meanings.
